Polynucleotide Treatment

Polynucleotides are an advanced regenerative injectable treatment designed to improve skin quality at a cellular level. Rather than adding volume or altering facial shape, polynucleotides work by stimulating the skin’s natural repair processes, helping to restore strength, elasticity and hydration from within.

This treatment is particularly effective in delicate areas such as the under-eye, where the skin is thin and prone to fine creasing, shadowing and a tired appearance. By encouraging collagen production and improving micro-circulation, polynucleotides help to smooth fine lines, brighten dark circles and improve overall skin texture. The result is a more refreshed, rested look, without heaviness or swelling.

While the under-eye area is the most popular starting point, polynucleotides can also be used on the face, neck, décolletage and hands to improve skin quality in areas showing early signs of ageing or loss of vitality.

For optimal results, a course of three treatments is usually recommended, spaced two to four weeks apart. Improvements develop gradually after each session, with results typically lasting between six and twelve months. A single maintenance treatment can then be performed to prolong and sustain the benefits.

At The Blackheath Clinic, all polynucleotide treatments are performed by experienced medical professionals following a detailed consultation to ensure the treatment is tailored to your individual skin needs and goals.

Our Method

Doctor consultation before polynucleotides skin treatment

Step one

Comprehensive Consultation

Your journey begins with a detailed medical and aesthetic consultation. We take the time to understand your medical history, skin concerns and treatment goals, ensuring polynucleotide therapy is clinically appropriate for you.

Your skin is carefully assessed to evaluate quality, texture and areas that may benefit most from regenerative treatment. With your consent, medical photographs may be taken to support treatment planning and accurately track progress over time.

Treatment Planning

Polynucleotide treatment is tailored to your individual skin needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Your clinician will create a bespoke plan based on the areas being treated, skin condition and desired outcomes.

We will explain how polynucleotides work, which areas are likely to benefit most, and how the treatment will be delivered to achieve natural, balanced results aligned with your goals.

Preparation & Final Checks

On the day of treatment, the skin is cleansed thoroughly using a gentle, medical-grade cleanser to ensure a hygienic and safe procedure. Arriving without makeup can help streamline this step.

Before proceeding, we reconfirm your treatment plan, answer any final questions and ensure you are comfortable to continue.

Treatment & Results

The treatment itself typically takes 10–15 minutes, depending on the areas treated. Most patients find the procedure well tolerated, experiencing only brief, mild discomfort during injection.

Small bumps or mild redness at the injection sites are common and usually settle within a short period. Improvements in skin quality develop gradually over the following weeks, with optimal results seen after completion of the recommended treatment course.

As a patient of The Blackheath Clinic, you will also receive personalised guidance on medical-grade skincare to support and prolong your results, informed by your complimentary Zemits VeraFace 12-factor AI skin analysis.
