Pelvic Fertility Ultrasound
Your pelvic fertility ultrasound assesses the appearance of your uterus, endometrium and ovaries.
Depending on your circumstances and the timing of your appointment, the sonographer may assess:

The size and appearance of the uterus

The endometrial lining

The appearance of both ovaries

Developing ovarian follicles

Antral follicle count
-
Ovarian cysts

Fibroids or other visible abnormalities
A transvaginal ultrasound may be recommended because it generally provides the clearest assessment of the pelvic organs. The procedure will always be explained to you beforehand, and it will only be performed with your consent.

When Should I Have the Tests?
AMH can generally be measured at any stage of the menstrual cycle.
Some of the other fertility hormones, particularly FSH, LH and oestradiol, are often most informative when measured near the beginning of the menstrual cycle, commonly between days two and five.
The most appropriate timing will depend on your cycles, symptoms and reason for testing. If you have irregular periods or are unsure when to attend, please contact the clinic and our team will advise you.
